I'M GLAD he makes the subtitles, because as a German, I sometimes Don't understand a few words , but reading them helps

As someone having worked IT helpdesk I swear printers are the spawn of evil…

Why do laser printers still exist? LEDs are really cheap these days.

the algorithm brought this back most probably because of the corona wire

I'm pretty sure there was one Oki LED printer at work and it wasn't liked as much as the laser ones.

I got an OKI led printer back in 1997-98?, because at the time it was a lot less (relativity speaking) than a laser. I think at the time it was about $400.00. I had several inkjets but got tired of the high cost of the cartridges. I now use a Brother laser that I bought for around $60.00 over ten years ago!

I had an OKI led printer at past (300 dpi -Windows 3.x, 9x drivers on discs). Worked well, but one sheet a time. Poor driver update for Windows XP. Moved automatic sheet feeder laser one (Samsung) and got much paper jams with bulk Xerox/3M papers.

sweet video thank you very much me thinks I may actually buy a new printer in the near future meow as long as I can find one that can connect via rj45 I would be very happy 🙂 Inkjets do sort of piss me off as most of the stuff I print I'm not quite as concerned about a photo finish… plus having a higher volume of paper storage is a plus…

I serviced computers and printers until it became cheaper to replace rather than repair. A very good description of how laser printers work. One missing piece of the process, however, is that the paper has to be discharged very soon after the toner is transferred from the OPC drum to the paper, otherwise the toner will become charged to the same potential as the paper and will fly off the paper because like polarities repel. This is on the same housing as the corona wire that attracts the toner from the OPC drum to the paper and only a few number of millimetres after the corona wire. This grounding device usually looks like a very thin saw blade across the direction of the paper path.
Strange that I should remember this as it has been over 15 years since I have worked on these machines.

I tried printing a photo on my laser printer and it was shockingly not horrible. A little weird shine from the toner and stuck with office paper due to the nature of how they work but other than that it had a resolution good enough for a cheap print… Mostly a check print to see if I want to pay for a photo quality print of the image since a laser print is a cent and a photo print of the same size is like $2-%5. I will consider a bottle type inkjet if I end up printing photos often enough to make sense but for that I also need to factor in cost of paper and see if it's just cheaper to pay a print shop.
