You should grab a bunch of the top rated DP and HMDI cables on Amazon and see how they rate.

I'd like to see every cable that comes packaged with monitors, TVs, and laptops that you guys review tested to see if the produce you're reviewing comes with good accessories.

I would like to see differences between the same cable being tight in a loops and straight up. Like the one which passed 2.0 but failed 2.1.

I have definitely gotten powered cables before for long extension runs for VR that did not work as advertised. Looking into some of the cheaper monoprice tier powered cables would be fun or anything that converts one signal to another. I think anything that says it's active powered but does not require an additional power source for the cable is snake oil.

I would love to see tests done via 3rd party "magsafe" USB-C adapters to see how much they affect the signal.

ironic that a product created to deobfuscate other products would have its own processor labels scratched out to obfuscate itself

If you are using this cable tester in production you will normal test each cable if the production is in china.
But else you will test a batch of cables to check, perhaps every 10.

Theres some potential with this I think. Is it just wishful thinking to imagine cable testing on occassion in the future?

I'm curious for charging cables, because I go trough them like no tomorrow, a lot with structural failures and then just such a varying amount of charging capabilities.

So maybe some stress testing and some damage testing.
Oh and I don't know if this is relevant but possibly try and get some cables from popular european brands for us euro folks

1. Charging capability of cables. Amps vs Volts to get Watts.
Not many cables seem to be up for the job.
And then Data transfer.
2. What quality are the cables that are packaged with monitors, phones etc?

How to recognize a good cable if you see one?

So I recently upgraded to a 3080ti and also decided to move my gaming PC – which now supports HDR and Ray Tracing! – to my main computer desk (used to be connected to my TV), however my work computer (Macbook Pro) needs to be there too, so I bought a DisplayPort KVM switch but to my dismay, it was DP 1.2 and not DP 1.4. Nowhere in the listing did it specify this – I returned it and have been on the lookout for a replacement (in the UK) and I have found that very few companies actually list the DP spec on their listings. Obviously, this isn't a 'cable' thing but I'd love to see a video where you review gaming-capable KVM switches as it seems that the market thinks you'd only have a use-case for a KVM if you ran servers – which I also do, but that's beside the point 🙂

I think it'd be cool to find a webpage that lists "top whatever amount of best HDMI cables" and validate if they are correct or if they're so full of it an enema would make them vanish <3
